Grades are in. I'm leaving CMU in 3 years with a 3.97 in computer science. Friends may say one thing, but strangers judge a 3.97 in CS a certain way ("no social life" for people outside the field, or for those in tech fields, "book smart"). The smartest people at CMU talk about how everyone gets terrible grades here, and then there's me.
Maybe it's a good trait, but it's an exhastuing trait: I wish I could have slowed down a little bit with the effort, but I always had that fear of actually failing (and trust me, I'm not talking about "Asian failing") if it wasn't close to maxing out. I could never gauge how tough professors would be on evaluation if it wasn't really good or if it didn't get there. This led to TOO many all-nighters my senior (junior?) year.
But, here's to me leaving off from my resume my GPA at CMU in the foreseeable future.
Hopefully a full reflection on my college expereince next week, if I get a few hours free.
