What have I been up to for the past five months? Well, I could bore you with a laundry list of everything but I won't torture you like that so I'll just say I've been doing everything and nothing. Ahh okay, maybe I will highlight a few things that have happened....
My mom got married in the beginning of August to a really decent guy. I like him and she is so happy with him so what else is there to worry about? Right now they are on their way to Vancouver so they can go on this fancy cruise to Alaska for two weeks. Harvey is his name and he has this great digital camera so I know they're going to bring back some spectacular pictures.
Myself and three friends are going to move into a cool little house on September 8th and I CAN NOT wait! I'm finally going to have my own room which I desperately need right now. For the past two and 1/2 months I've been living at what all my friends call The Guys House (since all our guy friends live here). It's a six bedroom and two bathroom house but there are 13 people living here right now! You never get that alone time that you're always thirsty for and this house is a complete wreck....on the other hand it has been a summer of good times living in this Fraternity like setting!
Unfortunately I didn't make it to see Linkin Park this year but I'm sure they will tour again. This is the first time I haven't seen them on a tour before =( I tried to make it to one of the shows (I was even in the top 10 for a trip to NY to see them!!) but fate was against me. I'm also going to miss out on the Dave Matthews Band....again. It's just not worth it to see one band for $80 when I could see 7-10 for only $30 at a festival.
I did see a lot of other great bands this summer like Social Distortion, Shiny Toy Guns, The Used, Say Anything, The Bravery, 30 Seconds To Mars, Silversun Pickups and that was just one show!
I also made it to, my favorite, the Warped Tour. This year I saw Evaline, Street Drum Corps, Circa Survive, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Circle Jerks, Pepper, The Dear and the Departed, Pennywise, Killswitch Engage, and Yellowcard.
On a side note I also saw a band called Minus The Bear
http://www.minusthebear.com and
http://www.myspace.com/minusthebear Everyone should check them out if you get a chance.
So what's next on my concert calender? Rilo Kiley, The Bravery, The Academy Is..., Armor For Sleep, Sherwood, dredg, Minus The Bear, Battle Alaska, Blindside, and Circa Survive. Phew!
All that music talk reminded me that I sent in my resume to a local radio station
http://www.kjee.com for an unpaid internship this afternoon! Keep your fingers crossed that I get it! That internship would mean the world to me even if it is unpaid but it's better than nothing. I don't want to work at Starbucks for the rest of my life and this is my first step....and I want some friends on Last.FM so go add me!!!
