Second day of running in Week 2 of my C25K plan... So far all of my running this week's been in cold, nasty rain. NOT exactly the most fun that one can have on two feet... but survivable... The last two times I started getting a stitch in my side after the second running section, but it started to fade after the third and fourth... and then, by that time, I'm halfway through so it doesn't really matter anyway, right?
On the way to the camp yesterday, I found some intriguing mushrooms that I believe are Amanita aprica, though I haven't keyed them out yet. The real tip-off is the warty veil that covers the entire cap and is attached to the top layer of it... really sets it off from the spring flushes of A. calyptrata/A. lanei/A. calyptroderma wherein the cottony veil material on the cap is easily removed.
Got photos of them today and found at least a dozen more (including a few that were growing completely underground.
