[Persephone's in the garden a lot, so Tifa's used to coming outside and checking on her.]

How are you doing?

[She turns to Tifa, sobbing.]

I-I hurt th-the tree!

[This is so bizarre that Tifa has no idea what to say for a moment.]

The tree?

[The bark on the tree is healed over now, but still. She pretty much stabbed one of her friends, oops.]

I h-hurt it.

[Which means the tree doesn't look damaged at all. Hence more confusion.]

It looks okay to me. Um, did you... say sorry to it?

[Wipes at tears, looking horrified at her tree friend and nods.]

[Sits down beside Persephone and hands her a tissue. Always prepared.]

Is there something else bothering you?

[Once Tifa is in range, the goddess pretty much latches on to her like a demented koala.]

This place. Is driving. Me. Crazy.

[Tifa doesn't mind that Persephone is dirty from gardening; if you need a hug, you need a hug.]

[She also just enjoys sharing the dirt. You know. It's from the earth and all so it's all good.

Persephone nods pathetically.]

I simply cannot take it anymore. I almost -- almost called you... mother.

[Oh, delicate situation here. She'll have to be as tactful as possible about this one.]

I know I'm only a surrogate... I don't want to take your real mother's place; that wouldn't be right.

We're all waiting until we can get out of here. But you know, Persephone, there is one good thing about this...

What?! What good thing is there? I have become useless and complacent... There is nothing good about this.

You, of course. Maybe it does make us complacent... well, maybe not complacent, but it does make life bearable. I think I'd have gone crazy weeks ago if you weren't here.

And you're not useless at all. Think of all the things you've learned here. Look at this beautiful garden you've created.

And you should see the ones I have in Greece -- the entire country is my garden. This is meager compared to that and I cannot even hear the flowers anymore. The silence hurts.
