I just rediscovered this journal and never realized how much of my life I had actually written into it. I am 23 years old now. I am inspired to write in it again due to the headline "I am gay with life". It's a silly phrase, but back in New Jersey in what used to be my bedroom growing up there is writing on the wall that reads:
"Patti is gay with life. Love, Muffin"
Amelia, known to her friends as Muffin, lost her life last week to a drug overdose. She was 21 years old. Tomorrow I have to give a toast in my public speaking class. It will be a toast to her.
I moved in with my parents two months ago, and I now live in Salisbury, Maryland. I take two classes at the local community college and plan on attending their paramedic program in July. I recently got employed with a local transport company called Hart to Heart and I have my second field training shift with them on Friday. Today, Rob Garcia gave me a tour of the Salisbury Fire Department and is helping look into my application. I need to find an affiliation soon in order to get into the paramedic program.
I've made quite a few friends here. Last night I spent hanging out with my friend Chris Kane in celebration of his being in America for 7 years. He is originally from Belfast, Ireland. Most of the times I go out here it's to a bar called Mojos. I cannot travel outside of Salisbury much at the moment due to lack of funds and my car acting up. I miss my friends in New Jersey, but I'll be up to visit soon. My sister came down to visit for a few days and it was nice.
I'm a lot more mature now than I was four years ago, and it's funny to look back at how I wrote. I desperately need to get back to doing my homework. :)
