boo!
I make such sporadic entries on this thing. One month I'm all about posting/updating then all of a sudden I just don't feel like it. I always, and I mean always, have something to say but for some reason, I get so engulfed by reading everyone else's LJs that I can't find the energy to write my own. Ah well, here I am, back at it again. Judging from some of my more lengthy entries, I tend to post on Fridays. This is the first Friday in a while that I'm actually home... and sober! wooHoo!
• Going to school about 10 hrs/wk and working 40 hrs/wk is physically and mentally draining. Fitting in the gym rarely- at least I went twice this wk.
• V-day was dope. Had reservations at Davio's w/4 course meal topped off w/a bottle of merlot. Watched 50 First Dates like a lot of you did. Went to the older ppl 'candy' store. Bought some goods and then another bottle of wine but this time shiraz-cabernet. Got home, played Tetris Attack and man, was I kickin' butt. Left my room for a few minutes only to find some cheesy but cute love coupons that was all part of a scavenger hunt in my own room! I was smitten, and still am :)
• Is it possible to overstudy for a test? B/c that's what I did for my last exam and I did SUCKY! OMG! I know, I crammed it all in 2 nights in a row right before the test so yes, information overload. I think I felt a little overconfident taking that damn thing. I made some careless mistakes, I admit that. What makes me the maddest is that I did waaaaaaaay better on my first exam and I barely skimmed my notes 5 times. Blah. EFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF studying. UGH!
• I need a stethoscope. I mean, I have one but it's crappy. It's a free snag from one of my Aunties. I'd like to get a Littmann.
• When I don't watch MTV (Newlyweds, music videos, Real World, Inferno, etc.), I watch either Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel. I fall asleep to that stuff... Kimpossible! but Rufus just doesn't belong sometimes. Love that show! My 2 y.o goddtr, Chloe, pronounces it "Pissable" haha.
• Work's work. Scattered papers but I can still find what I need when I need it. My xerox machine is still alive and I haven't brought my fax machine to an open field w/a baseball bat... yet (a la Office Space).
• And it's also nice when ppl at work give you recognition for what you do even if your work is piled up on them. My work is dependent on them but I bring them the work to do! So in essence, I am basically bringing them the bacon.
• One wk last month I had the house to myself but I was barely here b/c I was either at school or work. My parents were in LV and my bro in NYC. I could've cleaned a little more even though it was pretty neat but my room was heinous. The day I had clinical, I went up to my room to find it spotless- all thanks to my Bubba and he cooked apritada (which my mom had cooked right before she left and he didn't even realize it was the same thing ha!)<3
• My final this semester is on June 15. I start 2nd semester June 17. Oh joy.
• I hate the old haggy women in my class. I hate know-it-alls. Hate is such a strong word but they just piss me off. One lady in particular is definitely an old hag- not married, no kids. Maybe the reason why she’s like that is that she hasn’t gotten laid in forever. I have no words to speak of the blasted fools right now- it'll just rile me up.
• My neighbor got robbed last Friday while she was at a wake. Sad huh? Guess that sh!t still happens around here even if we do live in a typical quiet suburban neighborhood. Funny b/c long time ago when one of my uncles used to live w/us still- his car was stolen from right outside our house.
• mizzboogy and her 'tickets,' celebrating her 24th bday. Man, that was the most fun I had in a long time.
• Got a haircut today. I don't know... it's weird. Shorter bangs than the last time.
• My cousin is having a boy! I'm going to have a new nephew, well aside from Sebastian (such a snooty name huh? hah), her white toy Maltese. She emailed some of the family w/an ultrasound pic and this boy's already got chubby cheeks heh. I can't believe that she's not even wearing her maternity clothes yet and she's 5 months. She said that she just unbottons the top of her pants. Unheard of! You know those pregnant ladies who don't even look pregnant from the back? That's probably her!
• Gave up all kinds of chocolate, candy, and soda for Lent. Same thing as last year, well tried giving up another thing but that didn’t work- I thought I’d end up cross-eyed. Oh and are mints considered candy? I still chew gum b/c I don't have a toothbrush at work and I don't want to be talking to any patients or anyone else for that matter w/stank breath.
• I've got a wk off from school in July- where should I go for vacation? Oh and also the wk going into Labor Day w/e. It sure as h-e-double hockey sticks won't be part of the continental U.S. Suggestions anyone… pls?
• Chloe and her Auntie Tippy (16th bday) will be celebrating their bdays together next w/e since they're a day apart. It's a Hawaiian theme so Auntie Mellie got some gear fr PI. I'm not big on midriffs and she was trying to get the older girls (meaning Janice, Chloe’s ma, Jing and me) to wear this 2 piece get up. I whined "what did I do to deserve this?" We decided to wear white halters/tanks w/the skirt instead. I've got hot pink, Jing blue, Janice orange. So the other night, my mom's trying on some of the other gear... Chloe comes out of the room w/about 15 leis around her neck. It was the funniest thing I'd seen and I'm still laughing about it right now b/c all you could really see was her head reaching up over the leis.
I suppose that was enough of what went on in my life in February to grasp in one sitting, or even more, so I guess I'll stop rambling for now. Better get to reading the new People, do some crosswords, play Bespelled, or watch some Disney. If I have anything else to add (which I probably will), I'll edit later. Good night, I think my eyes are bleeding.
