but Nam Taehyun reminds everyone just how much of a diva he is by bringing up his hyung status.
I get it. Hanbin isn't called Tiger President when they're practicing for no reason. But he does that so everyone can improve and perform to their best abilities. That's what a leader does! And Team A cannot take criticism. ANY kind of criticism, not just negative. They either cry, get really depressed, lose hope, or pitch a fit.
In Episode 2, YG tells Donghyuk and Yunhyeong their roles in Team B are awkward; they have no place in the team dynamics. They get really sad, but they do a lot of self-reflection and promise to improve so that they can build a place for themselves. He also criticizes the whole team, singling out B.I. and asking what happened, implying B.I. failed as a leader because the team sucked. B.I. strives to practice harder, work harder, improve, improve, improve.
That same episode, Team A also gets criticized for sucking, and Nam Taehyun getting singled out for his vocals. What does he do? He cries. Wah I used to have so much confidence before I came to YG. Wah I discovered I wasn't the best at vocals like everyone said I was and I honestly thought I was because I let all the praise go to my head wah. On top of that, he embarrassed the whole team by pitching a hissyfit in front of the vocal instructor. Who is he to criticize Hanbin for being a harsh taskmaster in dance practice when he doesn't even show proper respect to his hyungs, his team leader, the vocal instructor?
Each member's ego in Team A is so big that they can't even unite under their first appointed leader. To the point that YG had to replace him! (lbr, that injury was just a convenient excuse.) I hope Kang Seungyoon does better, and I wish him all the luck in the world, but unless he could control the others' diva behaviors, nothing will change. And if they debut like that, they'll be one of those groups who disband after five years/whenever their contract expire.
