My kid graduated high school!
Jocelyn graduated high school on Oct 21st 2024. She was actually done on the 14th, but it took a week for them to audit her credits. She graduated with honors! And with a 3.73 GPA (manga cum laude). It took a while for her diploma to come in and I had to order her gown, honors sash, and cords. I'm letting her take the rest of the year off. After the holidays are done we will focus on getting her a driver's license. She's had her permit for a year and a half. We will pay a company to give her lessons because I am not cut out to teach. Once that's done she can apply at the grocery store by us. For school, she's thinking about being a vet tech or vet assistant. We'll see how that goes.
David's court stuff has ended. For his 2 charges of not registering as a sex offender, he got 12 months of jail each, but they're suspended. So if he messes up again, he'll have to serve those 2yrs. On his 20 counts of violating his probation, he got 12 months of jail for 5 of those charges, and on the other 15 charges he got 3 years each of probation. That means he has 5 years of jail and 45 years on probation. He should be in jail until he's 59, unless he's able to get out earlier on good behavior or something. He used a private lawyer which I'm sure Joyce paid for. I saw his new prison photo....dude has a smirk on his face! Joyce is still trying to get my address, she wants to send Jocelyn money for graduating. Somehow she found out even though I only told a few people and didn't post it online anywhere. I think my sister-in-law told my mother-in-law, and my mother-in-law told my mom. But if that's the case, she could easily get our address from her.
It must suck to know you're favorite child is a sex offender that can't stay out of jail....meanwhile, the child you always said was evil, has never been in trouble with the law and is thriving without you. They're both going to die alone. David is going to be in jail when she passes. And when David gets out....he has no kids, no spouse, no significant other, no money, no job...nothing. You reap what you sow.
Anyway, I feel like poo because I have the flu while I'm still recovering from surgery. I'm making homemade creamy chicken noodle soup in the crock pot tomorrow. :)
