i guess it's weird to some people, but to others it would make sense.
like, if you pissed off the mafia, it would be safer to be somewhere the mafia couldn't get you.
besides it's just dad and me, i don't want him to get lonely all by himself.

think about it: if you're going to take away someone's powers, you have to be way stronger than them, right?
