Oh my, how wonderful!

There’s no sign of it on his face, but Helga remembers the twists of smoke rising from the remains of the hall, witches and wizards lying dead in their ruined homes, and Salazar staring out over the scene with sorrow in every line of his face. His home, destroyed by Muggle warriors. There had been no time to call for friends then; no way to Apparate out when he was needed to fight.

“I’ll help,” she says, though there is weeding to be done.

I love this bit for two reasons: the look into Salazar's past, and Helga's bit about the weeding. It's just so... Helga. Such a practical way of looking at things. Excellent!

And I LOVELOVELOVE the way you wrote their interactions. How Salazar gets a bit freaked by the fact that she saw more than he wanted her to, how he chose Helga in the first place to test his new theory. And of course, there's the kiss! I just love how he went for it, and how Helga knew it was him all along. Helga sees right through you, Salazar, just admit it!

Plus, the Salazar&Godric friendship was a really nice bonus. I definitely don't mind the way you did the Godric/Helga.

Basically, THANK YOU for writing this! If you couldn't tell, I really loved it!
