besides the incorrect spelling, stores can not set a minimum purchase for credit or debit charges because it's a violation of the merchants agreement. argh!

true. but its one of those things that, even if you get them to cave and let you charge less than $10, you still end up looking like an asshole.

Minimum purchases on credit cards are becoming more popular, since credit card fees are extremely high for small businesses. I don't think they get charged for debit, though.
