I don't like LJ putting in place LJ-cuts that override my own and thus don't let the reader make an informed choice about reading material. I talk of spoilers, TMI, and porn - you might be OK with the one of these and not with the others, and I don't want anyone to be made to read something they don't want because of their very natural curiosity. Locking.... As a paid user, I can access a privacy tool which takes just a few minutes to lock ALL my entries if I want it to.

Well it's OK for entries to be unlocked if they're just links or so. But I do like to keep the flock option for personal stuff and such.

Oh when I decided to f-lock my journal, I just locked them all because with 600 something entries I was just too lazy to decide for each entry whether or not lock worthy.

I know I'm pushing my luck, but do you know, by any chance, how to get a sidebar with tags on IJ? I'm used to have one on LJ and I miss it greatly on IJ.

It is like Livejournal. You need to choose the right layout that allows you to show it.
I am using Bloggish at IJ and have my list of tags in the sidebar.

I'm breaking down and beg: How, how do you do it? I have two communities and want to move to ij for good sometimes soon. If I could, somehow, syndicate the communities, people who want to stay on lj would also have the posts on their flist. I've been looking around, but I don't have much spare time and am not a paid user on ij (I don't trust any of them much), and won't be much longer on lj. Can you point me, pretty please? :)

I have no idea how to do it on IJ. (Probably similar to LJ, though)
But on LJ, it is pretty easy: You look for one of the lists of syndicated feeds and on the bottom of the side, there will be "Add Feed by URL". Enter the link; it will ask you for a name and you're done.
