After an afternoon...

and morning... and evening.

Despite my apprehension, my first day at Ameriprise has come and gone. I still have a job :)

My FVP (Field VP) gave me nothing but enthusiasm and confidence first thing this morning... he told me that I was *clearly* dressed for success, to begin with. He also said he thought I would be "wildly succesfull" in this career, just based on the initiative I took in three days time. Sure brought me out of that 8am slump.

I had 3 PMM's (meetings with prospects).

2 seem very interested.

1 paid the fee and his financial plan is going to enter the development stage next week.

Every hour of my day was jam-packed. It moved pretty fast... 12 hours is a long time. I watched a DVD that got me so excited I almost cried. It was advisor/client testimonials. One of the clients remarked that through Ameriprise they were able to get "as close to Heaven as it gets." They were able to save enough to build a new home where their old, ragged one once stood. They spoke about their advisor and her true human interest in their lives... they respected her and were so grateful for her role in their financial security. It really put such a positive spin on the job...

One advisor said it best:

"You have to have the mind of a capitalist, but the heart of a social worker."

I almost said "capa-social-worka"... but then I realized that really wasn't very polite. :-D

apprehension, ameriprise, accomplishment
