Saw John Mayer on Friday night with Marisa at the Bank United. We had pretty damn good floor seats.
I know the show was *amazing* even though I feel like I can't remember most of it... not because I was drunk (I wasn't), but because I was taking pictures and video-ing the whole time. I'd say out of the 150 or so pics, maybe only five were decent. And the videos are a little too far away and the sound isn't fabulous. So much for my great new camera. Glad I have a few good pics though.
But there's just something about being behind a camera that makes you feel like you weren't really there.
Still, watching the videos now, I know it really was a great show. We commented afterward that his guitar playing is getting to be amazingly good.
We met up with Marisa's friends, Theresa and Kevin, afterward. Marisa suggested Titanic... which, at first, was quite, ehem, loud. Some band named "D3?" I don't know. They were scary and there were ten year olds running around the bar. So strange...
Anyway, Marisa's company was quite amusing after a few drinks. There was an extensive discussion on "flickerage" and "breast tweaking." And all over some awfully tasty apps! Mmm, Smoked Fish Dip, how I have missed you! The Beer Battered Shrimp with spicy remoulade were dee-lish as well! The Bucket-O-Wings (Sriracha Spicy Wings, that is) were a bit over-the-top-spicy... but Marisa said they were "authentic Buffalo tasting." I guess that means they were really good? (I prefer the raspberry Cheers wings) Had no idea that Titanic had such good food though... so we'll have to go there again when it's not as busy.
Marisa also made me order a Sloe Gin Fizz. I had no idea what it was. Now I know. It tasted like a mixture of medicine and ass. She paid for that $4 ewey adventure and probably won't be drinking any Gin Fizz's herself anytime soon.
John Mayer rocks and I like fish dip (with lots of lemon). The end.
