Quick News Roundup

I'm about to get on a plane, but a few quick things before I do/my battery dies.

•Papa Waigo's last interview before he left for Lecce was amazingly positive, he seems like such an unrelentingly good person. Score many goals, Papa.

•After a lot of back-and-forth between Bologna and Samp (Fiorentina had an agreement with Samp, he had one with Bologna), it's supposedly about to be announced that Da Costa will join Samp for the rest of the season on loan, for a fee of about €200,000. ETA: It's official.

•Things have slowed down, though, on the Storari front -- rather than in London wearing blue, he's at training today with his Viola homies. It was reported yesterday both that Chelsea wanted videos of him in action before they signed him (They bring this up NOW?!) and that Fiorentina somehow blocked the move; whoever is to blame, that move is up in the air now.

•And, on the topic of Chelsea, Ivanovic's agent is supposed to be meeting with them today to see if they can hammer out a deal for him to move to Fiorentina, either in June or, possibly, sooner (though Corvino says he's not even on the market anymore). Everything is allegedly sorted between Fiorentina and Ivanovic, but things between the two clubs remain to be worked out -- if it's going to happen before the transfer window closes, they better hurry their asses up.

•Torino really, really want Pubes but they won't pay what Fiorentina want, and his agent says La Viola won't let him go on loan, so he's probably going to end up staying.

•Mazuch's move to Anderlecht still hasn't happened and, while he would very much like it to work out, he's manfully said he'll be patient and stay til June if necessary. I'm sure that's a huge load off Corvino's mind.

•To end the stories that Samp are desperately chasing Zauri, Fiorentina made a statement this week saying he's not going anywhere. Now, though, there are stories about Roma wanting Comotto (who actually did some of his rehab work with them last spring), particularly because he's not Cup-tied and could play in the CL for them. What is it with these right backs?!

•Fiorentina have reportedly reached an agreement with Christian Ledesma; now it's a question of convincing Lazio to let him go this summer without a whole lot of drama, and Corvino is hoping €5 million will do it.

•In non-transfer news: Cesare wants technology used to cut down on refereeing errors, Gila was in court yesterday, Monty will be in the Italy team for the Brazil friendly, Mutu isn't fully healed, but Cesare's optimistic about getting him back for Sunday, and Jorgy is bringing a youth team from his old club to Florence to train and see a match. &hearts
