Details on the Pazzo Deal + News + Rumors

Jan 14, 2009 15:02

•Pazzo is excited to be at Samp, and thanked the people at his new club today for their faith in him; he'll be presented tomorrow at 12pm, Genoa time. Interestingly, The Palermo DS said (and no one at Fiorentina is contradicting him) that they offered more for Pazzo than Samp did, and that Fiorentina were happy with their offer but let Pazzo choose the club he preferred to join -- it sounds like he really is where he wants to be, finally.

•Emiliano Bonazzoli, meanwhile, is decked out in purple, has already been presented in Florence and, just like Pazzo, is eager to prove himself at his new club. Bonazzoli, who's at the opposite end of his career from Pazzo, played for Cesare at Parma, so they know one another well.

•At Bonazzoli's presentation, Corvino revealed the terms of the deal: €9 million + the loan of Bonazzoli. If Fiorentina want to keep Bonazzoli, he'll cost them €2.8 million.

•Osvi was also a topic of discussion at the presentation, and Corvino said he still could go, if they can work out a deal that's positive both technically and economically. Corvino said nothing about any clubs, but it's being reported in Italy today that Fiorentina have accepted Bologna's offer of about €4 million for half-ownership, and that Osvi will join them Monday -- we'll have to wait and see on that one.

•There's been talk about Papa Waigo, too, because his agent spoke with a website today and told them that the main thing is that Papa wants out, not where he's going. When specifically asked about the possibility of a move to Torino, he said that is "one possibility."

•Sampdoria (co-ownership), Bologna and Torino (both loan) all, reportedly, still want Pubes.

•Away from the transfer market, Mutu is confident he'll be back in 3-4 weeks.

•Kuzi was in the press room yesterday [video|audio], and was barely able to contain his glee (OMG!) about getting to play his idol Andrea Pirlo on Saturday. When he wasn't squeeing, he talked about how everyone -- including himself -- played poorly against Lecce and, while he couldn't explain it, promised things would be different at the San Siro. Additionally, he laid out his plans for beating Milan, bestowed a little love on Pato, and said that Osvi apologized to the team immediately after the Lecce match.

•It was Gambit's turn to face the press today [video|audio] and, when asked about Pazzo (the move wasn't official at the time), he described him as "a great friend and comrade who has always given the highest and has always behaved professionally." Aw, man. He also said he still has a hard time sleeping because of how bad the Lecce match was, but that everyone has to remember that this is the same team that was so good away to Samp. (Aw x2.) Like Kuzi he, too, was full of praise for Pato and said eager things about the Milan match.
