•Mostly, I just want to make sure everyone watches the video on the official site
of the first day in Spain. It's mostly pretty boring, but there's a ridiculously adorable moment of them sitting around that makes the whole video worth watching -- Dainelli's taking care of grumpy Pazzo, Seb is sitting on Comotto's lap, and Kuzi and Jorgy are having a very intense private chat. (Oh, and there's also a glimpse of Gobbi in his mask for Angha and Conny.)
•As promised, the very tan Cesare met with the press yesterday [
video, no audio from Spain apparently] and, most importantly, confirmed that Jorgy is truly back in training, and said that
everyone is happier when he's around. &hearts &hearts Other than that, he talked about lots of general things: The club
want to win something in 2009, the
collective attitude is good, etc, etc. He also said -- "sincerely and with all ... affection" -- that if Pazzo
wants to go prove himself elsewhere, he understands. *sniffle*
•Gila had his turn before the press today [
video], and he, among other things, said "Hey, why not?" when asked if he can finish the season as top scorer. Generally, though, he spent time
rehashing Milan and his move to Fiorentina (Milan was hard but he grew a lot, and has confidence in Florence),
working with Mutu (it was easy to find the understanding they had at Parma again), and
the season thus far (no, the low point was not the Palermo handball -- it was an accident, dammit!).
•The Pazzo thing has gotten (even more) completely ridiculous over night. A Genoa-based paper is reporting that he's
already agreed personal terms with the club (to the tune of €1.6 million/season), but will only move there if Milito goes to Inter. Elsewhere, though, he's
said to be a target for Udine, who are thinking about replacing Quagliarella (expected, apparently, to be sold next summer), and see Pazzo as part of a possible deal for Zapata.
And then there's Genoa, whose DS said today that they'll be bringing in either Pazzo, Corradi, or Balotelli. And, for what it's worth, there's Gazzetta's little
transfer pie chart, which lists Genoa as his most likely destination, followed by Samp, Fiorentina, and the ellusive "other." (Also, notice in the text with the chart that his price has supposedly been dropped to €7 million from €9-10 million.)
•In less labyrinthine transfer news, Mazuch is reportedly
99% of the way to Anderlecht on loan. If this actually happens, they'll have the right to buy him for about €1.5 million at the end of the season.
•Lupoli doesn't seem to be on his way back yet, but he's
bitching and moaning a whole lot in Norwich, and threatening to leave. If this keeps up, they're probably going to just kick him out whether he likes it or not.
•And, finally, the agent of Internacional midfielder Alex
will be in Europe soon, supposedly to meet with Fiorentina, Schalke, and Atletico Madrid (even though his club have denied any contact with Fiorentina). This Alex dude, by the way?
He's awesome.
