Transfer Roundup

Aug 02, 2008 09:34

New people.
Hello, all! Hopefully this will be the first of more regular posts in this community as we get closer to the season, and the start of the Champions League campaign. If there's anything specific you'd like to see here, please let us know in the comments, and we'll do what we can!

News and CL talk coming later but, for now, a roundup of all the transfers that have gone on this summer, in order to get all caught up.

IN: BUYS
Stevan Jovetic (€8 million from Partizan Belgrade)
Alberto Gilardino -- maybe you've heard of him (€14 million from Milan)
El Loco, Juan Manuel Vargas (€11 million from Catania)
Gianluca Comotto (€4 million from Torino)
Felipe Melo (from Almería)

IN: LOANS
Luciano Zauri (from Lazio with the option to buy for €3.2 million)
Marco Storari (from Milan)

Once Vargas and Comotto get fit, it's likely that at least four of the big buys will start (it looks like Prandelli will ease Jovetic into things, despite the fact that he's a genius already at the age of 18), which is absolutely amazing. Corvino is the best sporting director on earth.

OUT
Alessandro Potenza (sold -- I think -- to Genoa)
Daniele Cacia (to Lecce on a co-ownership deal)
Tomas Ujfalusi (to Atletico Madrid on a free)
Bobo Vieri (to Atalanta on a free)
Fabio Liverani (to Palermo on a free)
Samuel Di Carmine (on loan to QPR)
Arturo Lupoli (on loan to Norwich)
