As they say, a new start. And, hopefully, a good one.
That's the right way to start the new season! For almost the whole match, the boys seemed very focused and attentive, without the big mistakes we were used to during the last season. Gila, Cerci and Pasqual were impressive, Jo-jo was still out of condition but definitely improving since the match against Cittadella, Monty was gorgeous and people stopped booing him, all the new guys did very good and the defense was organized and very very good - even if they had a couple of hard times with Diamanti. It was a good match; not one of the best ones, but very good indeed, surely ways better than last season ones. Sinisa was happy, Gila and Cerci were happy, Cognigni aka Mr President was happy, Florence was happy and there's a general confidence about this season and everything, so, good work, boys, that's the start we were expecting!
Fiorentina 2 - 0 Bologna
Marcatori: 20' pt Gilardino, 2' st Cerci
Fiorentina: Boruc; Cassani, Gamberini (21' st Nastasic), Natali, Pasqual; Behrami (29' st Kharja), Montolivo, Lazzari; Cerci, Gilardino (36' st Silva), Jovetic.
Bologna: Gillet; Pulzetti, Portanova, Loria, Raggi; Perez (22' st Morleo), Mudingayi, Khrin; Diamanti, Kone (1' st Paponi); Di Vaio (30' Acquafresca).
The Fiesole was crowded ♥
(The Ferrovia did not, but.)
As anyone could expect, before starting to cheer the boys up, Fiesole had to take a moment to complain about the strike of last week (they call it hypocritical, and I can't honestly blame them).
They put a lot of faith in the new guy, El Tanque.
"Hello, my people!" - "*SQUEEEEEE*"
Sinisa: *Bless his people*
As you can easily guess, it was another pretty hot day in Florence.
Sinisa can't believe is this hot.
Hello, Tanque! Welcome to Florence.
Apparently, people love this guy.
Mencucci was there to witness the start of the new season (and eventually blame someone else for the fail. Luckily, at the end of the match he was able to tell everyone how much he was happy, and he talked also about Monty's renewal).
Mr President was there too! What a lovely surprise ♥
Before the match could start, there was a presentation about something I missed 'cause I was trying to find a streaming.
Some kind of... project? I don't know.
And!, Primavera showed up with the Supercoppa to take the love they deserved.
#myprideandjoy
#myprideandjoy, part two.
I really do hope that we'll be able to see some of those babies along with the first team.
Gambit: "All right, can we start?"
Even taking a group picture can be hard, if you are Fiorentina.
Everyone: *tries not to look too scared to death*
This man and his new hair style has very little to do, except thrilling every time Diamanti tried to score.
On his side, Pasqual was a monster, a very good one.
Despite of the temperature, he ran, he did a lot of crosses, he did Gila the perfect assist, he defended... he did almost everything on that pitch XD
Good job, man ♥
Captain!Gambit was on his debut with the all captaincy thing, so he was pretty eager to show everyone how good he is.
And he did good, a lot ♥ even if in the middle of the second half he had to leave the pitch because of a hit on the leg.
bbMatija replaced him, and it was his official debut in Serie A too ♥
The Big Bad Cherub Natali was at the center of the defense along with Gambit, and he played well.
On the other side, Cassani played. And he was... well, quite good. He stayed pretty much in the back, thinking about defending rather then attacking.
Cassani: *Pouts*
I know, yours is a hard life.
The other new guy, Lazzari, got the start too on the midfield, right next to Monty and Valon.
I have to say that I didn't see him this much, but everyone claimed that he didn't do bad, so I suppose it has to be true.
Hello, ex-Captain. *Throws confetti*
He was... well, wow.
I was first “come on, people, don't scream at him this time too” and then I saw him play and I was “come on people, you CAN'T scream at him this time too”.
Because, you know, he was amazing, everywhere, every time they needed him, focused, so different from the Monty from the last season. He looked his better self again.
Monty: *Showing how much weight he had put on his legs*
Ah, I forgot: he nearly scored, too.
And people didn't scream at him. :) I was so proud of him and of the tifosi, for they aren't known for their kindness, but this time they really surprised me for good.
Valon's hair was frostier than ever.
And his tongue is still always out of his lips.
Kharja replaced him for the last part of the second half, basically because Valon was deadly tired of running around and tackling people down.
And he did good. I mean, I'm not one of his biggest fan, but he impressed me positively, and so.
I guess I'm starting you accept his presence in my team, and this is a start indeed.
Squeeee, my boy ♥ (and his total incapacity of control his facial muscles)
D:!Jojo.
And he got the captaincy after Gambit left the pitch, after the match he was all “oh, I was so excited to wear the band, omg, I'm so proud of being captain of Fiorentina”.
Oh, yes, he wasn't able to score neither this time, and he wasn't happy about this.
Ouch.
Is Monty frowning at my boy?
Chia: *Stares*
Photomen loves him, and I'm not complaining AT. ALL.
Sinisa was busy yelling = this shirt was soaked wet. Ew.
More soaked.
And more.
And more. Sinisa couldn't believe how hot it was.
*Bathes him in talc and buys a new shining shirt*
Are you wondering why Sini is smiling despite the hottnes? It's because Gila's here. \O\
And, even with the blondish hair, he has still the good habit of scoring.
And the good habit of playing well. He was superb, against Bologna.
“Mine, mine, mine!” And he scored an hell of a goal. Daw.
Yes, Gila, yes. They're calling your name.
I'm desperately in love with this man, I'm a bit pathetic.
Pasqual, who gave him the perfect assist, was rewarded with a personal hug, and Gila thanked him
on his official website Pasqual is somehow scared by Gila showing him all this love.
I love this photo. ♥
Natali: “You did it, man, you did it!” - Gila: *So happy he would hug even Sinisa*
Yep, Gila loves his people. And his people love him. ♥
El Tanque replaced him.
Gila: “Don't screw this up, won't you?”
(Right a moment before, Sinisa was telling him the very same thing, only threatening him with all his big experience.
And the-bald-and-maybe-a-bit-ugly man didn't.
He didn't do anything epic, but he ran (… ran. He tried to.) a lot.
Well done, Tanque! I hope to see you score as soon as possible.
Did I mention that this man was totally gorgeous? Yes? Let's say it once again, 'cause he really deserve it.
Cerci: *Feels embarrassed by all the praises*
Cerci: “Catch me if you can!” (Well, they couldn't.)
Cerci: *Showing to LDS his extreme flexibility*
At the very start of the second half, Stevan played a ball in the middle of the area for Gila, but he missed it. Instead, Cerci arrived running and put it in the goal. Wooha!
So he deserved his personal hug.
And Pasqual, who wasn't scared as e was before with Gila, decided to join the two of them.
So the menpile began.
Cassani came late, so he had to glomp on Jojo and Pasqual instead of Cerci.
Because Cerci was very busy having a little bit of time for his people, who turned up loving him as their beloved son.
Cerci, after the match, said that the goal was dedicated to his mother, 'cause she was the one who disliked his trasfer to Manchester City the most and forced him to stay in Florence. So, Fiorentina thanks you, ma'am.
Sinisa has strange ways to tell his players that he's proud of them.
*MASSIVE NOSEBLEED* *TEMPORARILY BUSY*
And this, this was the best moment, imo, because this is the start that I really wanted to see. So happy for the boys, so happy for Sinisa and, last but not least, so happy for Monty. Let's hope this general happiness and loveliness will last.
So! This Saturday, there will be a match away against Udinese, and as Gila called it, it'll be very insidious. Let's see, I'm really looking forward to it, 'cause the boys looked very well and I'm hoping they'll do their best in Udine!
