*sighs*
Oh, how I missed Blasi and his quest to get the most cards in any given season... at least he had company on the naughty step. (Bizarrely enough, it looks almost like he was being the voice of reason here.)

The Napoli guy I follow on Twitter is so anti "Walking Card" Blasi -- is there any chance he's going to be replaced in the next couple days, or will he continue to spend time on the naught step this season? (I was about to call it the naughty step in the spam, then I realized only you would know what I was talking about.)

I don't *think* so, but you know the silly season, never say never. (I didn't see the Quagliarella thing coming.) And we did just pick up Yebda and Sosa, which seems to give us a surfeit of midfielders.

I'm anti all the stupid cards Blasi picks up, and yet, I think he contributes something in terms of defense that was missing from the midfield last year. (Other than all the cards.) So I won't be terribly disappointed if he's around for a while.

I am starting to wonder who's calling the shots in the mercato, though. Sending Quagliarella to Juve doesn't make a lot of sense unless we've got another star striker coming in- and I don't think we do.

Sorta like a Melo, except less Brazilian? I feel like he actually offers a lot, but the cards become his reputation, which seems unfair -- to both him and Blasi, sounds like.

My outsider impression is that Quagliarella wanted out, is that accurate or completely wrong? Would he have been sitting w/Cavani there? Wonder if that was too much for his ego to take, or something.

I'm not sure if Quagliarella wanted out or not...the thing is, he's a local boy who made a big deal about wanting to play for Napoli, and even if he didn't have his best season, it wasn't for lack of trying. The comments he's made (see also Papa Quagliarella) about the transfer make me think there was drama going on behind the scenes and he felt insulted or something. He may have had a falling out with DeLa and/or Mazzari.
