Decentralism, the meta-ideology of the future

Feb 15, 2008 00:27

Currently, political ideologues (such as hard-line demicans and republicrats) are arguing and competitively voting over which ideology gets to control the various countries of the world. I believe that, in time, people will realize how wasteful all of that expended competitive effort is, and will realize that larger gains can be had with smaller ( Read more... )

The examples are obvious and numerous, but I may as well post many examples, so as to eliminate whatever bit of ambiguity remains:

I already gave the one example about a partitioned versus unified Iraq.

The civil war:
Contrary to what some people believe, the north did not invade the south due to the slavery issue. The north invaded simply because the south seceded from the union. One could argue that the slavery issue justified the north's attack because the slaves lacked self-determination, but 'preserving the union' was hardly worth the tens of thousands of union deaths.

world war 2:
The axis powers seek to impose worldwide fascism.

the cold war, the korean war, the vietnam war:
The communists seek to impose worldwide communism.

Israel:
Various arab nations wanted all of the middle east to be muslim, so they attacked Israel. Hezbollah and Hamas continue to do the same. Israel wanted to impose their rule upon some territories that they stole from the attacking nations, so they conflicted with the palestinians. Only when a separate palestinian state was created, did relative peace begin.

turks and kurds:
The turks impose their rule upon the kurds, and encounter military resistance.

9-11, and other attacks on western secular countries:
The jihadists try to intimidate the world into turning islamic.

And those are just the obvious well-known examples.

And those are just examples of wars. It does not include all of the political conflicts, discontent, and governmental stagnation that result from such attempts to impose a single political will upon politically diverse people.
