I just put dinner in the oven at 9:20 pm.
Sometimes, I like the idea of eating so late; the italians do it (but then, they have big lunches, right?)
Other times, I wish I could kick my lazy ass in gear and cook as soon as I get home.
But there are other things I'd rather do after 10 hours of driving and working and they are:
1) Kiss my wife
2) shower
3) watch some tv
4) play games
5) Kiss my wife
In other words, I'd like to decompress. Cooking is fun, fulfilling, tasty, and challenging, but it is also work, and tough work at that. I could do quicker meals, but they don't actually taste very good, or aren't very good for you, or aren't actually quick (such as crock pot meals.)
Tonight's dinner will be garlic roasted pork tenderloin with carrots and potatoes and couscous. I might also whip up a nice au jou to go with the pork, as there tends be lots of stuck on goodness in my pan, and it also makes it easier to wash up afterwards.
whinery,
cooking
