A Prediction
Shortly after the current Manga bubble bursts like a giant corpustle; Japanese comic importers such as Viz media, Tokyopop, and others will be hit by a second blow that will send most of them out of business, and leave only one major company and perhaps two or three minor ones still in the business.
That blow will come in the form of a screeching anti-pornography screed led by some uptight suburban mother who discovers her daughter's stash of yaoi manga. This storm will be a perfect storm, and make all the previous screaming soccer mom fits seem like soft Ireland showers. The storm will probably meet if not exceed the anti-pop music storm of the 50's and 60's.
And that's because dad's will be roused from the couch. Not by nagging wives, but by the spectre of the possibility that someone out there is canoodling with their daughter. Add in homosex to the mix, and we're looking about a thousand tons of dynamite sitting at the bottom of a very tall metal spike in a thunderstorm.
This will be both hilarious, horrifying, and annoying.
