Yesterday I picked up comics, incl. the new GOON trade. Eric Powell is probably the most well rounded guy working in comics. His art and words blend together in an insane mash of goodness that I haven't encountered before. I wouldn't say he is the best artist working today (that I reserve for Luke Ross) or the Best Writer (which I have to give, despite my own ambivalence, to Warren Ellis), but he is more than solid in both. He is great in both. Top 5. Which, got me thinking; which comics writers and artists to I most enjoy?

forvrin's Top 5 Lists for 2/2/06

By Name and What I give it to them for.

Top 5 Art Monkies:

1. Luke Ross (Samurai: Heaven & Earth)
2. Eric Powell (Goon)
3. Mike Wieringo (Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man)
4. Tony Moore (First Six issues of Walking Dead)
5. Andy Kubert (1602)

Top 5 Button Mashers

1. Warren Ellis (Specifically for Fell)
2. Kurt Busiek (Conan, Astro City)
3. Eric Powell (Goon)
4. Mike Mignola (Hellboy)
5. Jerry Holkins (Penny Arcade)

On the Video Game front, I've all but abandoned Scarlett Crusade and my Tauren. We've got a guild on Lightninghoof called the Hospitaliers, and I've got a Pally up to 30. Tonight, I'm going to run the Darkshire Q's and hopefully ding 31. :)

I've also defeated all but two of the Collosi. Need to find some time to wrap that up, and then send both that and Ultimate Spiderman back to Gamefly for some more consoly goodness.

kawakaze and I finally got resturaunt shelves to put in the kitchen, and we've picked up. I made Chicken Yakitori last night and was just pleased with being able to cook in a kitchen not only with room, but that was also clean. Next up: every other frickin' room in the house.

The Shadow of Collosus OST is awesome. I play it really loud at work.

There was a lot of craziness at work these past two weeks, stuff that had me working from home late into the night three nights in a row this week. Luckily, it seems like we managed to hammer it down and things have been relatively quiet all day. Which allowed me to get some sketching done. Woo-ett.
