On Friday my roommates and myself went to the russian market in Tallinn. Anything you may need for preparing food can be found there - and the prices are insanely low. Although it was pretty much necessary to go there with George, because he speaks Russian. I definitely need to prepare a decent shopping list before going next time.
Saturday was Tram Party day. But before that we explored a few shopping centers. Maxime and George were looking for shoes and jackets. I wasn’t planning on buying anything but ended up getting a new shirt - the second one I bought here (plus my new multi-coloured scarf :D). The prices are relatively decent here, maybe a little higher than back home - but I don’t really have a choice, most of my warmer clothes are at least a size too big by now, so there was no point in bringing them. But next time I think I’m going alone, now I know that shopping with other guys is definitely not my favourite activity...at the second place we went to I ended up going off on my own and purchased a set of speakers, so I don’t have to use the rubbish ones in my laptop.
Tram Party...well, it’s a party. In a tram. Music and everything. People falling over each other when they misjudge acceleration. And someone broke a window from the outside while we were going along - I had my back to it (literally, I was the closest person to it...luckily far enough away) so I didn’t see anything, but it was more than a little scary.
Afterwards there was a big party at the night club Cathouse again, but me and some other people decided to try something different. First we went to a small bar so I could finally get a taste of the famous „Mille Mallekas“ shot. Vodka, Tequila and Tabasco. Not quite as disgusting as I had expected, but still not something I need to repeat.
Then we went to a place called Club Venus. Originally for an older Russian crowd, now younger Estonians go there as well. Finally a place with some halfway decent music, or at least a better mix. Some metal (even if it was mostly retard metal - okay, you have to hand it to Rammstein: They did their part to bridge cultural gaps - everyone can say „Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt“ now) and rock in between the usual dancefloor numbers - and some strange local stuff (I think I actually heard some Metsatöll *g*). This lasted until around 4:30 before I decided to call it a night.
