weekend adventures

oh how i love new york city.  i haven't yet decided if i love it for visiting only, or for living in....i'm seriously thinking about moving there after traveling.  it's the most amazing city but i'm not sure if i'd go stir crazy living in such cramped quarters - my friends' living room is smaller than my bathroom...and i have two bathrooms.   but anyway, about the trip
THE GOOD
-i had a near religious experience at the met.  i could sit in there for hours with a sketchpad, just wandering and sketching and being amazed.

-eating the best food ever: thai, israeli, italian, pizza bagels, cannoli.  i think most of my time spent with amy and niralee consisted of us wandering through different neighborhoods and taking frequent eating breaks.  recommendations: the falafel pitas at chickpea on st marks place and third, the curry puffs at luscious thai on 1st ave and east 60th, and the chocolate cannoli at caffe roma in little italy.  soooo delicious.

-going to any club/bar that does not feature keg stands and dollar buds.

-seeing the girlies!  and playing with the world's craziest kitten,  bijou thomson-shah.  ugh, i wanted to take her psycho ass home with me.
THE BAD
-cold, rainy, and snowy weather.

-my flight home got canceled, stranding me at O'Hare airport overnight.  every time i travel, i say to myself "note: do not get a flight that goes through O'Hare if humanly possible"....and i always end up having to transfer through there anyway.  subconciously, i think i always wanted the experience of spending a night in the airport and now i have it.  would not recommend it though....thank you thoughtful airline employees who woke me out of a sound sleep at 4 freaking AM to tell me I had to move.

-i left new york at 11 am on monday morning....did not get home to minnesota until 11 am tuesday morning.  then had to go to work. felt/looked like death.

THE STRANGE
-meeting two cute, intelligent, funny, and successful guys who were interested in me, and who both conveniently live 1500 MILES AWAY.  so unfair.

so i just made vegan chai cupcakes and i've already eaten 3 of them.  "vegan cupcakes take over the world" by chandra isa moskowitz is a great book.
