We're in the City, where I have been living the past few months. Unfortunately, there is no way to escape. It takes people in and out of the City whenever it wants.

... From what I've read through the network, there's a possibility that you will be gone again come midnight. Today seems to be one of our curse days.

It's not impossible. I've read about people who have arrived on a day like today, and then they've stayed.

There's Truth to be found everywhere, and it has my interests piqued. I guess it just depends on where I'm going next.

If you do stay, I think it may be possible to rearrange a few things in the apartment. ... I'm still not quite sure where we will store all of the books, but we should be able to manage.

Don't go out of your way. If it ends up happening, I'm sure I'll make do with what I have. I usually don't stay in the same place for long, anyway.

We were heading into the Midnight Channel to explore - and instead of ending up there, I ended up here.

Exactly. ... Thankfully, many of the citizens here are welcoming to those who are new. But that still doesn't change the fact that this happened and that I ended up here.

I have my roommates, of course - the ticking of the clock goes away when someone is around people.
