They have been together, always.
On the day he has hatched, the first thing he had seen, had been Natsu's face. And even when they fight (as rarely as it happens), even when he say he will go out and be on his own, he never means it once.
Because Natsu is important - Happy knows that much. Natsu is important and they would stick together, always and always.
They are a team; they prove that whenever they fight together. He is Natsu's wings - a dragon's wings (Nakama is not a vehicle after all); this is what he can do, this is how he fights, this is his way to protect Natsu.
And as they fight and laugh and live side by side, he notices one important thing: Natsu conjures miracles.
Because whenever Natsu gets into a fight too big to him - which admittedly happens all too often with his habit to challenge about everybody who is stronger than himself - but whenever he gets into a fight that is too big, but that he just needs to win, even if everything seems hopeless, even if it comes to the point where even Happy starts to doubt - Natsu pulls through.
He pulls through and conjures a miracle.
This is what Happy admires the most.
And now while they are separated, even though he feels himself doubt everything about his life, about his purpose, he remembers that. He needs to remember because he needs to believe.
Because now as he stands side by side with Charle, looking down to the earth from, knowing that he must not fear anymore, running, jumping, falling - he thinks of Natsu, smiles and believes.
Believes that for once he can conjure a miracle himself.
Believes that soon he will once again become the dragon's wings.
