this secret amuses the hell out of me because I SEE WHAT OP DID THERE. XDDDDD
Cause the city in the background of the picture is Vienna. And Vienna just happens to have a local legend about the Basilisk. In which the Basilisk (which was an ugly fusion between a rooster and a toad as far as I remember) was slain with a mirror since it couldn't stand seeing its own uglyness.
Of course nobody who didn't learn about that in school (because yes, Vienna's myths are an actual part of elementary school-education… in Vienna at least. Which is perhaps the only reason I actually get the reference. Oh those little things one remembers even though they serve no real purpose~) or just happens to be interested in Austrian myths (not many I'd imagine) woudl ever get that.
Which is pretty much the only motivation behind this post, because I find the reference awesome and feel like imposing it on other people. |D
