Alright, it's fic time again.
This piece is kinda special to me and I'm a bit nervous about it because for once it's actually not 5D's fic. It's the first bit of fic I've written and completed for another fandom in a year.
Anyway, it's TTGL fic and I actually wrote it already a while before. I just found it today on my hard drive and saw that actually only needed a few more sentences. And I think it would have been a shame for it to be left incomplete. I guess, I should mention that it's pretty much spoiler free, unless you haven't seen episode two. It's kind of a missing moment, because I agree with what you said in chat, Starry: Kamina doesn't do guns. |D
Enjoy
Category: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Characters: Kamina, Yoko
Genre: Gen, Humour, Friendship, (Romance?)
Rating: K
Warnings: I think it’s fluff. Pure and untwisted fluff. … I’m surprised myself. |D
Summary: Oneshot - But all above - and Yoko would make sure to tell everybody who asked her and that more than once - Kamina. was. an. idiot.
Disclaimer: TTGL isn’t mine. It’s way to awesome for that.
--- A simple Man ---
Even though she hadn't even known him for a day, Yoko could certainly find a few things to say about Kamina. She would definitly mention how loud he was, and perhaps how motivating and/or annoying it could be to listen him for a longer period of time and perhaps then she would quietly admit how brave and bold and fearless he seemed to be. But all above - and she would make sure to tell everybody who asked her and that more than once - Kamina. was. an. idiot.
And just this morning, when the ganmen from the day before returned, startling their newcomers out of sleep into something that resembled a panic-attack, he proved that again and not just by spilling the hot coffee (or the muddy water as he had called it) all over himself (which was more clumsy than idiotic, and it made Yoko smile; there were so many things that Kamina and Simon just didn't, couldn't know…).
But while she watched as Leeron poured water over him, she sobered up. It wouldn’t do if they lost their newcomers just a day after they had joined in. Simon had Lagann and would be fine but Kamina, with all his recklessness, was certain to get himself killed one day, especially when only armed with that antique sword of his.
Which was why she made her offer: "Can you use a gun?"
Kamina, who had been looking thoughtfully towards the enemy ganmen, answered a bit distracted: "Of course. Who the hell do you think I…"
But then he stopped mid-sentence, starring aghast at the small hand weapon in her hand. She just raised an eyebrow at him. "What's the matter?"
"What's with this weapon?" he started, frowning at her angrily. "Are you takin' me lightly?"
Yoko took a moment to study the weapon, unable to find anything wrong with it. It was small and practical and not overly complicated for somebody who surely had never handled this kind of weapon in his life before (like Kamina). "It's a gun. What's wrong with it?"
He just glared at her, then huffed, getting up and turning away to leave. "You can keep it. This sissy weapon won't satisfy my manly spirit!"
She just starred at his back, feeling anger rising; just what was this idiot trying to proof; just how stupid… all she had tried to do was to offer him a mean to protect himself! She narrowed her eye, turning away as well, sighing theatrically. "So that means that the great Kamina-sama can't use a gun…"
She shook her head, closing her eyes suppressing a smile of triumph as she heard him shift and turn back. "Well then I'll just have to keep it for my…"
Before she could even finish her sentence, the weapon had been already ripped out of her hand and she twirled around, feigning surprise as Kamina twisted the weapon around in his hand, studying it. At last he snort, lifting his chin in pride. “I suppose, I can borrow it for now.”
With that he stalked away, shouting for Simon to come. She was left behind, shaking her head in slight disbelieve as her hand setteled on the strap of her riffle. He was such a simple man. Really an idiot.
And yet she couldn’t stop a slight, fond smile from stealing onto her face. After all she had just tricked the great Kamina-sama.
