Alright… I have no idea whether to laugh, face plam, be amazed or just keep starring.
Saturday 8:00 am, and I proof that I have no life by being already online. And unbelievably bored. Which means often that I don't have any sites to poke and generally nothing to do. And today in my boredom I decided to poke pokito.
What I probably should explain in advance is that pokito is pretty much the german match to 4kids. Pokito is actually a source of very mixed feelings for me. Because every once in a while they can be pretty decent. Digimon, Detective Conan and One Piece for example are/were translated from the japanese Original. They also kept the original openings with german text and I really love those openings. Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z were also kept true to the original from what I can say, but they really failed GT (really, cutting out 13 episodes for no reason at all? -.-°).
However they started and do more and more buying of dub from 4kids, starting with YGO DM and keeping that up to the now with 5Ds. Which makes me cring because even though the dub makes me laugh every once in a while, I can only take it in small doses. And I really wouldn't have minded a nice german dub. Though german dub has the redeeming quality of pressing all my Star Wars buttons, cause the VA of Yusei is the same person who speaks german Anakin Skywalker fffff (that almost screams for crossover…).
Anyway, how is that relevant? Well as soon as english dub stopped, the german one started airing five days a week and was finished after two months and some odd days. And what I missed until now is that once they stopped airing, pokito called for a contest with the task to draw a comic that shows how the fans think show continues after the fortune cup. I'm still at the loss on what to say. But part of me finds as entertaining as german preview info back in February. Which is not by any means meant sarcastic.
