So, after having sorted through my pile of mails and getting myself updated on most of stuff otherwise (most importantly catching up with 5d's which I'll ramble about somwhere below) I feel ready to tackle netlife again. Yay!
Anyway since we did quite some driving in the last three weeks from San Francisco to San Diego (and I realise I haven't said anything about where I've been till now; yes I was at family vaction to Carlifornia the last three weeks. It was so awesome. ^^ Though I'm kinda really glad to be back in Europe again now.), I spent most of the time spinning different fic verses through my head while looking at the scenery (because I'm distractible like that XD) which now are begging to be written, so I guess I should get some order into that stuff.
1.) The robbed Light and Starshards verses: I've taken some print versions of those with me (and cringed a lot over my typos. I really need to fix those and get more practice in proofreading before posting XD). I mostly worked on the The robbed Light, because now that season two is over I noticed how much stuff the show has thrown into my face for that story (and that my Kiryu isn't so horribly OOC as I thought him before).
Not to mention that I got a very nice and long review on it over on ff-net, that kind that really motivates one to continue writing. And, to my surprise I found it in Starry's Hall of Fame C2 (with a couple of my other stories). I feel very honoured. Starshards on the other hand isn’t going so well. I kinda feel blocked when it comes to that. :/
2.) Horo's City verse: I think I finally got the last holes out of his pre-series background and am currently writting a summary for it. My only problem is that I'm not quite sure yet what to do with his season-1-verse. I basically have two different outlines for that right now: One that would pretty much go as cannon goes with the difference that Mukuro takes over canon-Yuseis place winning against Shira and drawing with Bommer, leaving Aki and Jack in the Final Duel to go all PDD and Yusei taking over Rukas original Duel against Frank (which I guess might sound a bit lame now but is totally awesome with my head because Yusei totally fails and sorta lands them both hypnosed and has to work through his insecurities… I really need to make this into fic).
The second one would be pretty much the same with the big difference that Shira falls out again and Kiryu (who retraces canon-Yuseis steps) takes his place and is revealed to be fifth Signer (with Rudger originally having the mark and also giving it to Rex, but while Rex falls into the sea he looses the arm and it is destroyed ; forcing PDD to seek somebody else to do his work… or something *needs to think this out a bit more*). That makes place for very interessting Yusei/Kiryu dynamics (and that amuses me very much especially given how the only the encounter between Horo and a Kiryu in DR went… XD).
Anyway I just realised that this also kinda calls for Crow becoming Dark Signer. Though I really need to think that out a bit more. But I really am in favour of the Kiryu-for-fifth-Signer-plotline. And I want to figure this out soon; I'm thinking about applying him in Domino RPG (Ok, I already started writing the app. Mostly because that forces me to write down his history anyway. Which I really should have done before and I know if I don't do it now I'll be lazy about it).
3.) I've been plotting another multichap (which I really shouldn't do given my history with them XD). It's one Scoopship AU (that I actually wanted to write for
scoopshippings Summerchallenge), in which PSBM never found out about Jack being Signer (those no invitation or similar) and Carly is sent to infiltrate Satellite by her boss in order to get the scoop of the summer. Which of course ends in total chaos and much hissfitting and awkwardness between those guys.
4.) I still have my unfinished Kiryu/Misty mess that I intended for Spring Fling Challenge; which actually has a very similar plot to the thing above: mainly Misty coming to Satellite for a shooting and running into Kiryu. God I'm lame when it comes to romance… I'd need to rework this a bit since there's more info about Misty now. THough I'm thinking about abandoning it for good…
5.) Various One-shots have been eating my brain:
a.) For one the Jack/Crow moment taking place around 60. Which is very solemn and serious for the most part. Because Jack is all "Carly died and I have to go on because that's what she wanted me to do even though I was prepared to go down with her" and Crow is "The orphans are still gone (or at least I don't dare to check since I couldn't bear if they aren't back)" and still kind of tries to deal with his own match against Bommer and then both of them meet and all they’ve got to say is "You look like hell" or something and just being generally awkward. Which I adore just as much as the hissfitting between them.
b.) Inverseshipping shot form the flashback in 54. A somewhat more smutty canon counterpart to
this. In which Kiryu tries to handle Jack and Crow leaving and Yusei is offering "comfort"… XD I'm still pending whether I'll actually write this or not.
c.) Brotherly Jack/Crow/Yusei from Jack POV: In which Jack discovers that things between the three of them haven't changed as much as he thought since he left. I've marked this as "need to write" in my head.
d.) Team Satisfactions first meeting: In which Martha sents her boys to run an errant and a series of mistakes (involving Yusei ignoring his instincts, jack being his general unhelpful self and Crow being “a goddamned idiot”) lead to the formation of the greatest Duel Gang. That also involves my personal headcanon of preTS Kiryu who would be basically all like “You guys better don’t forget that this is TEMPORARY, since I work alone and intent it to stay that way.” Those has much "Need to write" factor.
So much about the fic/rp stuff at least.
Anyway, I've caugth myself up with the last few episodes and I got to say I'm currently a bit disappointed with 5d's. What made it so awesome till now was the tight storyline. I don't see that in the current episode. The one with Crow dueling the Scarecrowdude was (while entertaining) pretty poinless not counting the bit in which Saiga discusses the tablet thing and Ghost with Y/J/C. Tht kind of saddens me a bit. I disliked 66, especially since I see no point in the use of Saivor Star (I can tollerate that against big bad evil in the lines of Kiryu and Rex… but against the first opponent of the new season it's rather lame).
But 67, the Academia episode was total win. I already love the new kids, especially Sly. Sly is adorable. I can't wait to find out what he wants with Stardust. 68 as I said above was entertaining but pointless. And next week is Married Duelist Couple Jack and Carly VS the loan shark. Might be pointless again I fear, but it will be very entertaining at least.
I also caught myself up with DC and gosh I'm love case #700. It's FINALLY plot case time again. A case involving FBI, BO, (Maybe!)Akai and Subaru can only be win. OP is taking equally interesting turns. With Ace being just about to be executed and the Mugiwaracrew still over the place and Whitebeard appearing… the next few weeks will be great.
I also caught up with Bleach and Naruto (which I both actually only read to find out how it ends but don't really feel very interesting anymore) Bleach is becoming somewhat entertaining again mostly because the Vizards have appeared now and all of them are high on my fav charalist. Naruto is mehh as always. Really since the end of the Rescue Gaara arc, I can't help but feel that that Manga has taken several turns for the worse.
But I also loved new Fairy Tail and FMA: Fairy Tail is aways entertaining (and sometimes I'll finally cross this properly with 5d's with Signer's becoming Dragonslayers and Crow having Black Feather magic and ahh this just would be awesome) and don't get me started on FMA *gleeee*. Hohenheim has begun his battle with Father (and seems kinda on the losing end now o.O) and King Brandly arrived to retake his throne and drives the Armstrongs into a corner only to be interrupted by Ling!Greed. Greed VS Whrath (2) got to be womething worth seeing.
