Weekend Rewound...

Sep 15, 2008 12:38

So it's Monday. Yet again.

I woke up bleary, yet again.

Stubbed my toe before coffee 2xs and only 1x after it.

Saw 3 movies this week ( Kung-Fu Panda, WALL.E and Rock On).

Loved 2 of 'em and thought one of 'em was worth a watch when it premiered on the telly later.

While on the way to Rock On, saw a mouse being flattened on the road. Why is this even worth a mention? Well because it was bang in front of a Ganpati pandal. Some consideration shown to the vaahan!

Found Talkie Town (TT) to be musty, slightly smelly and with creaky seats. But it was fun to actually have balcony seats in the age of the multiplex.
Doofus (my fwend, foe&feeder all rolled into 1) stood with hand on his heart during the national anthem. Again something you don't see very often. Both...the national anthem being played in theaters and people putting their hands on their hearts a la school days).

The clip TT ran with the national anthem is very well filmed and not at all over the top with jingoist fervor. It depicts the army stationed in Siachen glacier and holding the tricolor steady in the face on the icy gales. I'm not a very expressive individual when it comes to my levels of patriotism but I actually had goosebumps and felt really quite proud!
Go Bharat Bala productions!

Anyhoo, the blasts in Delhi knocked out all of my exuberance. chillmaadi  had messaged while I was watchin WALL.E and that's all it took for me to forget the going-ons onscreen and start obsessing about the fact that Dad was in Delhi at that time. Called up Doofus for the latest updates and bit my fingernails to oblivion while Ma and I waited for my father to answer our calls.

Jehadis or not, militants or no militants...those who have so little regard for human life that they'd gladly kill to state their points should be wiped out.
Messages of the PM, Sonia Gandhi, Narendra Modi and Advani expressing their grief is worth bupkiss if it ends up with no results and no actions.

Doofus had sent a message a while back (around the time of the Bangalore blasts) that the country is heading down the Gaza strip road and it seems so effin prophetic now.

Blah! Am feeling low again. Must listen to my cheer up song (title track of JBJ) and start jhooming.

films, ma, red, doofus, food
