So, where to start? I figure i may aswell get the first part of japan trip typed up while i fly, help to waste the last 2.5hrs of this jolly long trip. Anyway, from the start.
Up bright and early at 4am, after not even attempting sleep til almost 1 (late night slurpee deliveries and drunken phonecalls = the bomb-diggity). Shower & do the last of the packing and all is well, i even have time to jump online and say g'day. Fast forward 10 minutes and i suddenly find out my laptop is crazyyy heavvyyy right before we leave and in order to carry it as hand luggage i have to suddenly re-arrange everything *insert some loss of sanity as i madly tip everything all over the kitchen floor and scurry around like a madman*. But no dramas, the re-arranging makes my main bag is overweight by a kilo but we just pretend otherwise and run out the door. So far so good, running 20mins late but hey that's just what we do.
So all is well we're driving along and then we find out 'King's Way' (aka the only way we know to the airport) is closed for a fun run and we suddenly have NO IDEA where to go. It's getting late and we're running anything but ontime. Somehow we happen to go on the right road to get into the city and BY CHANCE i remember the way to the airport because last time i went to brisbane i had to get a cab (Travel lesson 1: everything happens for a reason! i remember at the time thinking how bad it was catching a cab and spending my money but if it wasn't for that we wouldn't have made our flight today. Crazy hey?), dad calls us and confirms the way and we're back on track. Crisis over - I mean we're still super late, but we're not longer on the verge of breakdowns.
We get to the airport and only juuuust make it in time - waiting for buses, stuff ups with flights, not knowing where our luggage is
going and the likes. But we get on the plane in the end. By the time we get to sydney they are already calling our names over the loud speaker to make sure we're there. We fill out formy things and talk to the lovely ladies for a little bit, they proceed to tell us that we've all been upgraded to StarClass for FREE for no particular reason. Now knowing i hadn't even paid for food or a pillow for this trip i was stoked just at the idea of actually getting a meal, let alone big leather seats, leg room & free booze. Too good i tell you, too good. Oh and just to top it off we just got given mini-tubs of connossieur ice-cream for dessert! SCORE! Soo yes that's quite good. Also haven't felt sick all flight (just the general headachey-ness from the lack of free air and what-not) so that's a mega-bonus.
Hmm what other news....I watched 'Night at the Museum' & 'Happy Feet', neither of which did anything for me. Thinking after i type up this i might bring out the big guns and watch pocahontas. Yay disney. Oh and me and mum just had a great discussion about the confusion of planes toilets (yeah that'd be me using the toilet seat covers as dunny roll, soooo not caring right now) as well as the plausability of teenagers actually having make-out sessions in them considering how small they are.
Aaaanyway i best be off because i believe mumsie wants to type & save an email-like message too, so i best let her do that.
It still hadn't really sunk in by this stage, but it was all getting very hectic and exciting.
This is what you do when you're flight is delayed by 2hrs, you hang out with the egg. (Yeah customs got suss when i carried that one through..) Good times really, i was quite comfy.
This was the gorgeous view from the plaaane, not many photos turned out how i wanted but this one was clear so i thought i should share.
* Just as a side note i think it's important that you know i've already spilt champagne, apple juice, tea, hot chocolate & water on myself during this flight. Good thing they all blend well with brown.

Jump to now and we're in amy's apartment! Yay team magic trick! Their flat-as-hell-camping-style beds are actually quite comfy, although i imagine after 3hrs sleep, 12hrs flying & 2hrs on a bus i'd pass out on just about anything. No jet lag though so that's a bonus.
This is the view from amy's kitchen, my first time seeing japan in the daylight. It actually looks pretty cute, it makes me want to be a ninja and run around on the roofs all sneaky like.
This is amy's garden, consisting of two plants in her kitchen. I personally think it's adorable. The bonsai has visitors. <3
My first japanese breakfast. Bahaha ok so there's nothing japanese about it, i love it. The milk isn't even that bad! Yay!
Daaamn i can't wait to mung into some sushi, i've been craving it for daaaays! Mmmm sushiiii..Oh man MISO SOUP! I CAN GET MISO SOUP! I swear i'll live off the stuff here, well that and dumplings, and tea, and prawns. Gotta love prawns. Mmm....
Aaanyway i'm stealing someone's internet and i'm afraid it's going to disconnect at any moment so i'm going to jump off for now.
Love you all, take care and feel free to comment even if you don't have a livejournal, just put your name in there somewhere so i know who's writing.
