Super-fabulous awesome day.

So first, I went to one of the most entertaining lectures in a very long time. On Malpractice. (Watch inked_caduceus for further coverage) Then had lunch at Pizza Papalis with 13 of my good friends from med school, along with 14 honorary "little siblings" that we grabbed from the new crop of first years. I managed to organize it with surprisingly little ( Read more... )

You know, if you mixed that last photo in with a bunch of photo's of Unisfans, I'd be pretty hard pressed to pick which one had all the Americans in it.

I knew we'd get along just fine when I made a comment about him snorting the fantastic spicy sauce at Seva's off the arse of a hooker...

(grin) Among another of the circles of friends I'm lucky enough to be a part of (hello, rasfwr-j!), it's a tradition to collect in Quote Books totally, wildly out-of-context snippets of conversation like that one. I sincerely hope I get the chance to introduce you someday to those folks, too. :-)

Had a marveous time. Thanks for coming. :-)

Ohhhh, I'm so jealous. (dance is very, very sparse in my current SCA area.) Korobushka is my very favouritest dance! And if I'd been drinking just now, I would have spit it all over my keyboard at the thought of Posten's to Mortal Kombat. Brilliant!!! *having wonderful evil thoughts for MDRF*

Oh, there's dancing at the Faire -- one of my very favorite memories *ever* is dancing Horse's Brawl with silmaril at the tavern across from the Joust Arena where the incomparable Wolgemut played; and dancing with Thrir Venstri Foetr on the boardwalk while silmaril and her bandmates played.

We'll find music, and they'll be dancing, m'Lady. Count on that. I'll even see if I can find a copy of Korabushka. :-)

Also here via turnberryknkn. :-)

Out of curiosity, how do the chain mail bean bags feel? I felt some a long time ago that I thought were way too hard (hurt the hands) but those look like they're covering normal bags so my guess is they're probably softer. I met my wife (jklGoDuke) at a juggling convention and since we both played in the Society for a while a friend of ours gave us chain mail bean bags for our wedding. :-) They're just chain mail, though. No bags underneath, but they're floppy enough that they don't hurt.

It was *wonderful* meeting you! I hope you come back again. I was the girl in the long blue skirt and black velvet top. My name is Sarah, but some people there call me Sorcha.

I love, absolutely LOVE when Jeff says, "That reminds me of a story..." He told us a bunch last week, and I was laughing for two hours straight. I adore his hospital stories so much. He has the facial expressions and gestures for storytelling. :)
