Phone numbers
Thanks to all who responded to my poll on reading phone numbers. I gave a very successful public talk yesterday on the subject, and am thinking about how to revise the poll (probably using Zoomerang or a similar service) into a more scientific dataset for potential publication. Your comments, and the comments and questions at the talk, were very useful in helping me to formulate some neat questions about the integration of social, cognitive, and technological factors in what is, at first appearance, a fairly limited and uninteresting topic.
If you haven't responded yet, please don't bother - the poll results have served their purpose as preliminary data, and I'll probably just be coming back and asking for further responses (in a more controlled circumstance) in a few months anyway.
