Sower: someone who sows or scatters seed during planting season.

Two points to remember:
1. Since we do not put new wine into old wine skins the seed is new but its source is always the same. The sower plants in hopes that the soil has changed and become fertile ready to receive the seed.

2. The Word is planted with the seasons of our lives, at one point we may be fertile, our hearts ready and willing and the next time a trial comes we may not be as receptive to its planting.

Sower- Anyone who's responsibility it is to share the Word.
Seed- The Word of God
Soil- The Four conditions of our hearts when the Word is planted in
us.
Fowls, sun, thorns- Satan and the situations that are in the world that we allow to take away the Word.

The Four soils
"some fell by the way side" Mark 4:4, 15
4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

"And some fell on stony ground" Mark 4:5, 6, 16, 17
5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

"And some fell among thorns," Mark 4:7, 18, 19
7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

"And other fell on good ground," Mark 4:8, 20
8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

In the Word is Life!
Lesson: To see where you are in relationship to the Word.

Is your heart so hard that you receive the Word not at all. Is your heart stony, so full of doubt and disobedience that there is not enough soil for the Word to take root. Or are there thorns, worldly lusts and desires so much so that they are allowed and even promoted to grow because their pleasures are wanted more by us than the yield of the seed. The wants and desires of our hearts and our flesh become apparent to all by the evidence of the Word in our lives.
These are stages in our walk that we experience throughout. They represent the seasons in our lives. They are each periods of time in which God want's to deal with us and we receive Him in one of these four ways. The understanding of this can be seen through the Big picture and through the pixels, if you please.
The Big picture is how God sees us, only He knows whether or not we are going to press toward the end, if we are going to run the race to the end. The other aspect of the big picture is the condition of our heart when a trial comes.
The pixel, or the small parts of a big picture, is our hearts on a daily basis. These are the nutrients of our soil, our hearts, that prepare us for the season. On a morning by morning basis do we allow our relationship with God to grow. Do we allow Him to provide is with all the love, compassion, patience, strength, brotherly love, knowledge, understanding; in short, all that is in Christ Jesus for us. Because it is all of Him that makes for fertile soil.
It is not an instantaneous thing, it is a work in progress. It is the process of preparation. How is your supply of oil and have you trimmed your wicks? Hallelujah! The fullfilment of everything that is the Word in our lives as well as our interaction with and for each other. It is the preparation for the fullness of all that He has purposed in us. The perfect soil is our hearts content for all things that are Him and through Him we feed the world around us. Amen!
