Blech!
Well, I suppose if I'm still going to read everyone elses' entries I should probably provide my own. We're going to do this in bullet format so as to cover as much ground as possible without me having to come up with transitional phrases. Ready kiddies? Here we go:
Summer Travel: Over the course of what I like to think of as the most boring summer ever I've been back here to Paso/San Luis four (4) times; down to Orange County (specifically Newport Beach) twice (2); and to San Francisco three times (3). When you add all that up it seems as though it would be nine (9) trips, but that's where you would be mistaken. Most of these stops occured during a four week period during which the plant on the front stairs of my apartment went primal on my ass and grew up around the door, making it necessary for me to hack my way in once I returned to Arcata. Besides my stoop-safari, and having some rather pricey items stolen from my automobile in Newport of the Fourth of July, the travelling was quite nice. I finally got to meet Chris' friends that I'd heard so much about (which, let me tell you, was rather entertaining), and his family. Other than that, not much to talk about in the travel area so...let's move on.
At this point (due mainly to lack of activity over these long summer months) we will group all other "news" and chatter into the category of "Other".
Other: Well, the other is pretty much this: I'm not at my best this last week or so after some relationship miscommunication/anxiety with Chris which caused me to let myself go. Instead of beginning the exercise regimen which I had planned on I continued to sit around my apartment munching on various sugary carbohydrate treats. Additionally, my skin is going nuts right now, probably due to the aforementioned snacks, and the fact that my skin always suffers when I travel. Plus! Some fucking spider (which was later killed by the very tough and manly man in my life *swoon* haha) decided to bit me right on the face, leaving a very nasty mark which is rather difficult to cover up. Hopefully everything will work itself out by the end of this week and I'll be feeling fit to begin the semester when I return. In the mean time I"m looking forward to this last week of real freedom which will hopefully be worth getting stuck in San Francisco for an hour and a half while they shut down all the streets surrounding the Civic Center.
But I digress...here's the plan for the time that I'm here, just in case anybody wants to get together and do something (which would really be appreciated)
Thurs. Aug. 4th ~ No definite plans for the day, but seeing Tom Petty at 8-ish thanks to Matt Callahan's excellent last minute connections.
Fri. Aug. 12th ~ Seeing Carole King at the Santa Barbara Bowl with my folks. This is gonna monopolize the whole day I think.
Sat. Aug. 13th ~ Last day in town before heading back up to Arcata.
I realize that's pretty detailed, but the last time I was here I seemed to keep missing people, so I figured I'd be as specific as possible this time. So, in closing, gimme a call if you've got some free time.
