Current characters at Dissideo: n/a

THE CHARACTER
Name: Kotomine Kirei
Series: Fate/Stay Night
Age: 28

History: Kotomine Kirei via the Type-Moon wikia.
NOTE: Only the Fate/Zero part applies. Fate/Zero is the prequel to Fate/Stay Night, and I will be taking him from the end of F/Z. F/Z occurs 10 years before the events of FSN.

Personality: Kotomine Kirei is not an evil man.

"Good and evil," being social constructs, are completely arbitrary. An action is inherently evil if the perpetrator feels guilt. An action is inherently good if the user feels happiness.

This is the world's most primitive and basic construct of logic. Even so, it is a type of logic that most people still do not seem to understand, except for the man named Kotomine Kirei.

He was born a priest. He was born to do "good." He grew up under the watchful eye of mankind's benevolent God, but still found no rest. Others praised him as a "beautiful child"--someone so pure and so pious that he could not be doubted--but in fact, every act of "beauty" in other men's eyes left Kotomine Kirei with nothing but a sense of emptiness. He did not take pride in the soothing of conflict. He did not take pride in the healing of others. He did not take pride in the things that all "good men" praise.

And for a long time--for twenty-eight long years--Kotomine Kirei could not find happiness in anything.

So we now apply this logic to Kirei's life. When Kirei does well for the good of mankind, Kotomine Kirei feels despair.
Thus, he has done nothing but sin for the entirety of his life.
Additionally, Kotomine Kirei is a devout man of God.
Consequently, sinning is unacceptable.

Kotomine Kirei is still a priest. He is a most devoted follower of God, and he lives to do good. He walks and breathes under the watchful eye of his benevolent God, and finds rest. Others berate him as twisted and conniving--but in fact, every act of "ugliness" in other men's eyes leaves Kotomine Kirei with nothing but a sense of joy. He takes pride in the sewing of conflict. He takes pride in the pain of others. He takes pride in the things that all ignorant men spit upon--and being a frivolous human himself, he finds enjoyment in the entertainment that only the frivolities of humankind can provide (love, hate, torture, revenge. All things uniquely human, in his eye).

And for a short time--ever since the end of the fourth Grail War--Kotomine Kirei has found happiness in everything.

He is practical (manipulative), intelligent (uncannily), selfless (self-serving) and good (pure). By no means is Kotomine Kirei an evil man.

Abilities: Everything granted to Kotomine Kirei was granted through hard work. He is in exceptional form, having extensive knowledge and practice in Chinese Martial Arts. His already great strength is augmented by his knowledge and skill in magecraft. His battle instincts are extremely sharp due to many years in training and on the field.

But despite his physical prowess, there is one last thing that Kirei has been granted with--he is noted in canon several times to be extremely skilled in healing magic. With a large enough energy source and while in good health, he can perform major surgeries without all the tools and equipment needed in modern technology.

Weapon: While Kirei usually prefers hand-to-hand combat, he is also in the possession of Black Keys issued by the Church. The keys appear to be three red sword hilts with blades materialized through magic rather than physical means. They serve more like claws or throwing knives than actual swords, despite their length.

He never carries more than ten keys at a time.

Preferred faction: Chaos.
