There's just something amusing about mailing my credit card bill in an envelope stamped with the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

I'm sure nobody who opens them cares, but it amuses me, damnit. I hate boring stamps.

mindscribbles, me, stamps

Some people I've heard of like to doodle pictures on their envelopes. One cartoonist loved to turn the envelope into a steamship so when it went through the sorter line at the Post Office it would "chug along".

Heck, I've done it myself once or twice. When I sent a letter to a guy whom I knew was a Mr. Bean fan, I doodled the envelope to make it look like Bean's Mini Cooper.

Of course, doing it with bill payments might be problem-inducing. *Shrug*

Nah, this is an actual stamp from the US Postal Service.

I like to get commerative stamps, not because I'm a collector, but because I like them better than boring flag stamps. I wish I'd picked up more of the Bucky Fuller and American Scientists stamps, though.

Back when they were available. They're out of print now, I'm pretty sure. They're out at all the post offices here, at least.
