[When flipping through their journals, the residents will encounter an entry that seems to consist mostly of scribbles. If one squints, they may be able to recognize the alphabet, but that'll be quite the chore. People from Efinea already have peculiar handwriting, but thanks to Lambda's complete inexperience with putting a pen to paper, it came ( Read more... )

[There aren't many people in Luceti who know the Efinean script, and Hubert, Pascal, and Richard are too experienced to be so sloppy now... And Sophie doesn't know how to write, so that leaves just one person left.]

...Did you run out of paper, Lambda?

[Does that mean he's not allowed to use his journal for things like this?]

... I understand.

[Of course not, Lambda. But Asbel doesn't realize Lambda thinks that's what he's implying.

...that doesn't stop him from trying to help Lambda a little, writing a string of AAAAAAAAAA, though, for Lambda to try and copy.]

[He tilts his head curiously, then picks up his pen and copies it down anyway. Most of those As end up looking like 8s.]

[...Hmm, okay, let's try slowing down then. He does the first stroke of the letter, the "spine" of the letter. He does that five times.]

[Scribble scribble. It looks a little shaky, but so far so good.]

[Ah, much better. It's still a little sloppy, but a big improvement. Okay, now he goes back to those, and finishes them, adding the curl on the left that completes the letter A.]

[This catches Asbel off guard. Not because he thinks Lambda messed up, but because he thinks something happened.]

Lambda! Are you alright?

... Yes.

[But his pen slipped and now his letters are ruined. Is there no way to erase this? Maybe he can fix it by crossing it all out. Yes, let's give that a try.

... Now it just looks even worse.]

Just... keep going, Lambda. Don't worry about your mistakes.

[To enforce that, he does another letter. He writes the full letter this time, but still does it in two clearly defined strokes, with a brief pause in the middle.]

[Alright. New line. A nice fresh space for him to scribble on. He tries again.]

[Asbel follows right alongside him, drawing a new letter as Lambda finishes the old one. A A A A A]
