I am not a Heath Ledger fan (not as in, "I don't like him", but as in, "I just never felt an emotional attachment to his work"). So hearing about his death was like hearing about my co-worker's grandparent's death: mainly sadness for the people who are left behind and have to cope.

If you're interested, no matter what your opinion of or attachment level to Heath, you might want to read mostlikely2 's post on the matter, which is kind of turning into a mini-essay about death and celebrity and how the versions of themselves that actors and writers put forth affects how people view them and how that in turn affects people's interactions with, and reactions to, them. I'm not summing it up well. Just go and read it. Especially the last two paragraphs.
