Alas, I live. Some days better than others, but all in all, I survive.
OK, so its been a year since Ive written in my LiveJournal. Sad, I know, but hey...it happens. There have been quite a few changes to things in my life so I will try to give highlights of the major events.
Nov 06 - I finally cave in and adopt a dog from a St Louis Humane Society branch. The vets there guessed the dog to be half beagle and half siberian husky. Dont ask me how that mix happened...but it did. He looks like a double sized beagle or an undersized labrador. Cream colored with brown spots and patches, with pale blue eyes (thats the husky for ya). His face even to this day is very beagle like. He loves to chew on cheap mini blinds, remove tags from blankets, pillows, and stuffed toys (WITHOUT chewing them to bits) and is the biggest attention whore I know! Named him Skyelar.
Dec 06 - Went on a date with a guy named Rick. Hit it off, and we end up starting seeing each other 3 and 4 times a week. He lived about 45 mins away near the Lake of the Ozarks. Spent all of Christmas day with him, and we decided to start a more serious relationship.
Mar 07 - Built a new computer. 1.8 ghz Core 2 Duo that is OCd to 2.4 ghz. 2 gig of RAM, NVidia 7600 GT vid card. Put the sucker in an UV reflective acrylic case. GORGEOUS! Lots of lights! Lots and lots of fans, and MUCH quieter than the old machine.
April 07 - Turned 28. Still look like im under 21 though.
May 07 - Convinced Rick that he needed to accept the job offer given being an assistant manager at a restaurant in Columbia Missouri, about 1 1/2 hours north of St Robert. He doesnt want to add stress on the relationship, but we decide that since my current job didnt pay all that well, that I would come along with him. It all worked out for the best as Anna and Levi really started to need the house for themselves. Anna got a job, so the need for my help on the mortgage wasnt critical. Besides, who wouldnt make a change to go from making 18k a year to 30k...
July 07 - After an easy four game sweep of the Cavs, the Spurs claim their 4th title in nine years! Looks like Lebron James has a few more years of growing up to do...
Aug 07 - Another cave in...Spent a grand on a digital SLR from Pentax. K10D with additional grip and 4 gig of memory cards. 10 MP beauty with built in image stabilization on the body so it functions with all lenses. Takes nice pics from the minimal use Ive had of it so far.
So there you have it. Rick and I have been together almost 11 months and if the government would allow us to get married, there would probably be serious talks about that right now (there have been some casual talks of a commitment ceremony perhaps next summer or fall, when we could have a honeymoon/vacation). Im looking for employment again, really wishing I could find something that didnt drive me to insanity within three months of being there. Sadly, the job market up here just took a dive with a few of the larger employers of Columbia making huge cut backs. Hopefully something will come along soon...Im getting incredibly bored (and depressed) without work.
Enough for now. I really should TRY to go to sleep although that has been an issue the last few days. Ive just been really irritable, frustrated at everything. Perhaps Ill try reading. I got a great leather bound copy of the entire Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy...
Time to go see what Zaphod is up to...
