Darkness, a Friend

Aug 30, 2005 00:14

Whispering winds speak of sadness ahead
Walking through the home of the dead
My only light from the silver moon
Morning will come far too soon
Darkness, a dear friend to me
Compassionate and silent, it lets me be
Others cower, to the light, they turn back
While I find solace in shadows so black
I walk alone in the land of the blind
Every concern never far behind
They will never know the fears I’ve fought
I have seen what they have not
They will never understand my tear-stained eyes
Unstained are the eyes that never cry
In my heart pain has dwelt
They know nothing of the pain I’ve felt
They could never understand what runs through my mind
Were they to ask, suicide would be the answer they find
So I hide away in my shadows so black
Never cowering at darkness and turning back
And I listen to the whispers of sadness ahead
And I keep walking through the home of the dead
