December 24 (Saturday) ~ At home (6:58 p.m.)

The chan chan yaki was almost done, the house cleaned and Kira finished getting himself ready.  He needed tonight to be perfect, it had been a long time since he and Masao had a nice night together.  He still missed the old Masao at times but Kira knew he wasn’t gone just lost in all of Masao’s fears and insecurities.  Kira wore his nicest pair of

Paranoid was the word that best described Masao this moment. He was sure Shige would come for him any second, as the thought of the stolen money continued to weigh his mind. Going to Kira's house didn't help soothe the paranoia either as kept wondering what if someone saw him or what if Shige followed him there and found out? Kira would become a target. To ease his mind, Masao took a long, winding path to Kira's place.

He arrived at the complex, trying to get a glimpse through the window as he approached. Kira had told him they would be alone, but he was still unsure. He approached the door quickly, knocking. He looked over his shoulder again, just to be sure.

Hearing the knock at the door Kira tried to collect himself. Fixing his hair once more in the mirror before getting the door. He was so happy to see that Masao made it but didn't hug his boy, he held open the door first to let him in.

For a second, Masao didn't move. He just looked at Kira, not saying anything. Blinking, he moved to quickly walk into the complex, nudging Kira away from the door so that he could close and lock it. He couldn't shake the paranoia, and he moved to make sure the windows were secured as well. "Are we alone?" he questioned as he checked that there were no cracks that someone could peer through.

"Of course we are alone." Kira said happy Masao was there. "Dinner is ready if you are hungry."

Masao sighed noticeably, lingering by the window before turning to Kira. "Good," he stated, feeling a little more at ease. "I am. What did you make?" he asked as he walked over to Kira to pull him into a hug.

Kira relaxed into the hug, he really missed these kind of things but loved when it was just him and Masao and his boyfriend could be his true self.

"Chan chan yaki, I was trying to stick to traditional if I could."

"Sounds delicious. I'm starving. Lets eat," he said, lingering where he stood before moving towards the kitchen. He knew the layout of the place well.

"Of course take a seat I will serve you." Kira smiled as he rushed into the kitchen to make Masao and himself a plate. Kira set the containers of food on the table and smiled at Masao as he made them both plates. "I hope you are hungry I kinda made a lot."

"You always were a good cook. Itadakimasu," he said as he picked up the chopsticks. He started the meal in silence, eating quickly and without looking at Kira. There were moments like these when he was pained with guilt for the things he did to Kira. He did everything he did out of love though. Kira knew that, he had to know. He stopped eating and looked up at Kira. "You know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you intentionally."

Kira smiled at his plate before looking up at Masao. "I know, you are just having a hard time. One day we can be just us with no issues. Until then we can make it work, I can handle your frustrations I understand completely."

Kira knew he was repeating himself but he wanted to emphasize to Masao that he knew and he understood.

"My frustrations," he repeated looking down at his food. He was trying to stay calm, to not be paranoid for once, to be observed in the moment. He knew he was to blame for the issues between him and Kira, though he wouldn't admit it and refused to believe it. As Kira spoke, he assumed that he was hearing Kira being accusing. Kira was pointing out his fears, that he was at fault. "I wouldn't have so many issues if you weren't so flirty with other guys." He was referring to one particular incident in which he thought Kira was flirting with his customers at work.

Kira stared down at his food wondering where Masao was coming up with this. If he was talking about Leo the he had nothing to worry about Leo was gone.

"I swear I don't flirt with other guys. If I did it was completely unintentional." he looked back up at Masao. "I swear!"

Masao's attitude started to turn as Kira avoided blame. "Who the fuck do you think you're talking to. Unintentional or down to fuck, I'm telling you to get it in check. Acting all fucking innocent. Ain't that smug of you."

Kira kept his head down knowing he needed to calm Masao down. "You are right I should be more aware. You are the only one for me Masao." Kira looked back now. "I got you a Christmas gift I hope you will love it. It came from the bottom of my heart." Kira pleaded.
