Kira stood in the grocery store looking at his choices of onion he had to pick from. It was his fault for waiting so close to the holiday to go shopping but he wanted to make a special dinner for when his boyfriend Masao came over. They were not going out like most couples would on the lover’s holiday, Masao was worried about people seeing them and knowing he was gay. Well know he liked men just as much as women, Kira sometimes wished his boyfriend was completely gay. It would keep Masao from cheating on Kira. Kira wasn’t stupid he knew what was going on, he always did but he couldn’t leave Masao he was afraid what he would do to himself if he did. He just had to toughen up and ignore the whores in Shige’s group who gave Masao that knowing look.
Quickly clearing his head of those thoughts, Kira was preparing for a date that he wanted to be perfect since he didn’t get this opportunity too much. So far according to Kira’s mothers schedule she was working the night shift of Christmas Eve so she wouldn’t be home. If there was even the slightest chance his mother would be home that night then Masao would completely cancel the date. Masao hadn’t cancelled on Kira yet and Kira hoped he wouldn’t. He missed his lover’s company it had been far too long.
For the dinner Kira had planned he was going to make chan chan yaki. It was popular in japan to eat fried chicken from KFC on Christmas but Kira really wanted to make a meal to show how much Masao meant to him. To make the night even more special Kira had picked out a special gift just for Masao.
For years Kira wanted to get matching rings but Masao wouldn’t have it. The rings could be noticed by others and people would know it was one of Masao’s biggest fears. Knowing if he got the rings Masao would refuse it Kira settled on something more subtle. A few days ago Kira had went to a Jewelry shop looking at necklaces but nothing stood out. It wasn’t until he visited his fourth store did he find it. There in the case was a men’s necklace on a silver chain with two angel wing pendants. The wings were silver with black detailing. The craftsmanship on the wings was amazing. The jeweler seeing Kira interested came over and told him it stood for good luck and protection. Kira wanted it even more, he knew the life Masao was living he would need all the protection he could get.
As he looked at the necklace an idea came to Kira that he could have his matching rings and Masao didn’t have to know. He would buy the necklace and another chain, he would take one of the pendants off making it a single charm necklace rather than a double. He would give Masao one and keep the other. Even if Masao didn’t know Kira would and know he had something to share. The necklace cost more than Kira imagined but he felt it was worth it. Even know as he shopped hidden under his shirt he was wearing his wing, the metal was warm from his skin and it made him smile.
Grabbing the bunch enoki mushrooms Kira looked at his list and saw all he needed was salmon. The sake he would have to get from Rei but that should be an issue. Picking up his basket again Kira moved through the store towards the fish section with a smile on his face.
((OOC~ yes they do make angel wing necklaces for men, I have one. They are supposed to look more masculine then the female ones. Here is a
reference picture for the necklace Kira is getting Masao.))
