1)Life = Work
Since Pedro moved all the way across the world to Hong Kong, life = work. But hopefully that will change soon because
Jonathan McKay is replacing him at ADPi (but no one can replace Peter in my heart). Life = work also because I am writing a TON for my classes. This is OK; it is good for me to write again after doing none for months on end. It would be better if I could write about something other than labor unions and random plays, but I'm not one to complain about something like this. Yay for making myself think clearly by writing!
2)Work = Sick -Sleep
I am also a little sick and a lot exhausted. These things exacerbate each other, but neither of them is totally unexpected since it is winter in Seattle and the beginning of a new quarter and I have a new ro'mate with new germs.
3)LJ = Not updated recently.
Here are the high points of the last few months:
-I now a vegetarian. It is a long and science nerdy story which I don't feel like retelling right now. The other houseboys are giving me flak for my decision, but who cares? Not me!
-I caved and finally got a facebook account. Let's not talk about that either. But if you want to friend me that would be acceptable, I guess. But you don't have to if you don't want to because I don't play the "I have more facebook friends than you so I am automatically cooler" game. I don't play because I always lose I am way too mature for that sort of thing.
-Christmas happened. That was cool, but not as cool as spending a couple weeks with the family and hanging out with friends who I hadn't seen in months.
-For some reason I have been getting lots of mail lately. Letters make everyone happy, I suspect. Especially if they are letters full of compact discs and IRS audit forms like the ones I have been getting!
4)Classes = Variable
Ochem is such a wonderful thing. My TA, Ilya, is knowledgeable and makes people participate and is Russian. My professor makes nerdy jokes ALL THE TIME in class which just makes my day. My personal favorite: "I am an angry potato. Grrrrr."
Sociology is enjoyable sometimes, but labor unions are so boring. Seriously.
Drama is... interesting. This is not my usual kind of class, and the professor is a little on the crazy scattered side, but on the whole it is pretty OK. I am reading things I would not have otherwise read.
5)Free time = Minimal
A postscript just for Kiri: I found a few comic shops around the U district which I think you might enjoy exploring. If you are interested and are free next weekend, give me a call.
