I need to play Go more often *_______*
I have been lazy this summer and didn't go as often as I used to, which was twice as week. Maybe I needed a break? I dunno. Either way I lost the habit of going and got kinda blah about it, despite how much I seriously love that game. I mean. It's just so seriously awesome, and there are so many possibilities and so much to learn that it never ever gets boring. So why I stopped going, I don't know. Possibly because my friends at the Go club sort of stopped going to and all that was left was people a LOT stronger than me.
So anyway.
I went this Wednesday. Played one game against a beginner and did horribly, blah. Am not used to having to give people a handicap and I wasn't really focusing. It was fun seeing how he'd react to my moves though, when I wasn't trying to win - he was much too careful, but that made it harder for me to catch up. I gave up on that game >.>
But what I WANTED to tell you about, for those who didn't get too bored with this entry already, was the NEXT game I played. See, the_great_stash was annoyed with me for not showing up these past Sundays, so he decided we were going to play an even game. To punish me. Usually I need a four or five stone handicap, which equals about 80 points.
How did it go? ajkfafg it really WAS an even game. I damn nearly won it, too. He won by 4 1/2 half points and if I'd won that last ko, I would have won the game *___* Without komi, I DID. Damn komi.
Pretty good for someone who normally needs an 80 point head start.
(and for those idiots out there who don't play go, komi is the 6 1/2 points white gets at the beginning at the game, as it is considered an advantage for black that he places the first stone.)
Okay. Okay. I won't bore you anymore, I know most of you have no clue what I'm talking about. CHANGE OF SUBJECT.
This has made me want to watch Hikaru no Go again. I seriously miss it *___*
I know linnpuzzle still hasn't seen all of it. We made it to ep 53 or something. aiwarikia and I once started watching, and so did the_great_stash and I. So I have a suggestion.
LET'S DO A HIKAGO MARATHON ONE WEEKEND AND GET THROUGH ALL THE EPISODES *___*
IT'S 75 OR 78 PLUS A COUPLE OVAS WE CAN DO IT YES WE CAN. Or alternately, make it two weekends.
SO basically, we just need to figure out who the hell wants to watch anime and be a geek with me and where to do it because um, no space where I live. Unless it's only one or two, I might be able to squeeze you in.
What do you think? And when? Comee ooonnn, it'd be awesome *_______*
