When Jet steps into the house that he, Longshot, and Smellerbee share, he isn't expecting to see a strange girl there. His hands tighten around his hook swords in case it's an intruder, but a few blinks tell him that this person is in fact...
"Smellerbee?" he asks.
She's wearing jewelry and a dress (Jet thought he'd never see the day), and some make up has been applied to her face. It's nothing extravagant, but this is Smellerbee we're talking about--the girl's been mistaken for a boy a hundred times. If Jet hadn't known her for years, he probably wouldn't recognize her.
"Do you mind?" she retorts. "You can stop staring now." Jet blinks again and looks elsewhere.
"Sorry, but, uh... that was unexpected. What happened?" He tries to look like this hasn't weirded him out in the slightest, and fails miserably.
"Katara and I went out for some 'girl time,' " says Smellerbee. That explains a lot, although why Smellerbee would go along with it is beyond Jet. He dares to sneak another look at her, and as he does, someone enters the room.
And of course, who else would it be but
Longshot? Like Jet, he blinks. Then he stares for a moment, before exiting to another room. Jet sighs and shakes his head.
"See what you did? You surprised Longshot." Smellerbee glares at him.
"Oh, be quiet."
