Jesus provides forgiveness and hope.
I saw that on a church sign a while ago and it got me thinking. If Jesus or any god or saint provides hope and forgiveness, then why in the world am I the way I am?
Last year I was...not 'hopeful'. I spent three months thinking and thinking...and I not only became confident but hopeful too. Let me tell you, I didn't use Jesus to do it. And the forgiveness part...I forgave myself for wasting all that time and for basically being stupid...I did that, not Jesus. Not God, not some pastor down the road.
So what's that mean? We make our own hope. Find me a person who believes in higher powers to fix their lives and give it meaning...and I'll show you someone who is weak. Someone who is just looking for someone else to blame.
